Shingrix Recombinant Zoster Vaccine is a highly effective, non-live vaccine indicated for the prevention of herpes zoster (shingles) and its most common complication, post-herpetic neuralgia. Developed and manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals S.A., Belgium, Shingrix is specifically designed for adults aged 50 years and above.

Each dose contains a recombinant varicella zoster virus glycoprotein E antigen combined with the proprietary AS01B adjuvant system, composed of QS-21 and MPL (3-O-desacyl-4’-monophosphoryl lipid A). This unique formulation enhances antigen presentation and stimulates both humoral and cellular immunity, ensuring high efficacy and long-term protection.

The vaccine is supplied as a two-component kit: one vial of lyophilized antigen and one vial of adjuvant suspension. These are mixed before administration, providing a 0.5 mL intramuscular dose. Standard packaging includes 1-dose kits or cartons of 10 kits, making it convenient for clinics, hospitals, and vaccination centers.

The recommended schedule is two doses given 2–6 months apart. Clinical trials have demonstrated >90% efficacy in preventing shingles, even in adults over 70 years of age.

Shingrix must be stored at 2–8 °C, never frozen, and has a shelf life of 48 months. It is a globally recommended vaccine for adult immunization programs.

Influvac Tetra is a quadrivalent inactivated influenza vaccine formulated to provide seasonal protection against four circulating influenza virus strains. It contains split-virion antigens prepared from two influenza A subtypes (H1N1, H3N2) and two influenza B lineages (Victoria and Yamagata). This broader coverage improves immunity against seasonal flu compared to traditional trivalent vaccines. To maintain potency, Influvac Tetra must be stored at 2–8 °C and should not be frozen. Abhayrab is an inactivated rabies vaccine manufactured by Human Biologicals Institute (a division of Indian Immunologicals Limited) for the prevention of rabies in humans following exposure or as pre-exposure prophylaxis in high-risk groups. Each 1.0 mL dose contains purified and inactivated rabies virus propagated on Vero cell culture, ensuring high potency and consistent safety. The vaccine induces robust and long-lasting immunity by stimulating the body to produce rabies virus neutralizing antibodies, which are crucial for protection against the deadly rabies infection. Abhayrab is indicated for both pre-exposure vaccination of individuals at continuous risk (such as veterinarians, laboratory workers, animal handlers, and travelers to endemic areas) and post-exposure prophylaxis following suspected or confirmed rabies exposure. It is administered intramuscularly or intradermally as per WHO and national immunization guidelines. Abhayrab has been clinically evaluated and is widely trusted for its high efficacy, tolerability, and safety profile. Common side effects may include mild pain, redness, or swelling at the injection site and low-grade fever. The vaccine must be stored at 2–8 °C and not frozen.
